Truck Sport UK has announced that GB Tyres and JK Tyre will sponsor the inaugural International Truck Prix, which debuts at Convoy in the Park on the 12-13 August at Donington Park.
Taking centre stage at what is reportedly one of the biggest truck festivals in the United Kingdom, the International Truck Prix is poised to co-headline the on-track action at the Leicestershire venue alongside the British Truck Racing Championship.
Bringing together British and International competitors onto one grid, the Truck Prix will apparently consist of four races – two on Saturday and two on Sunday – which will take place in front of a trackside crowd and more watching online.
Offering access to what is said to be one of the largest ranges of car, van, truck, coach and OTR tyres in Europe, GB Tyres stocks tyres from all major manufacturers, premium, mid-range, and economy. Since 2019, it also claims to have been the official distributor of the JK Tyre brand in the UK and across parts of Europe.
Steve Thomas, Truck Sport UK Director, said: “We’re delighted to announce that GB Tyres and JK Tyre have come on-board to sponsor the first-ever International Truck Prix in a couple of weeks time at Donington Park.
“This event has been something we’ve been longing to do for quite some time and to attract major brands such as GB Tyres and JK Tyre is a testament to everyone’s belief in making it a success. I’m sure it is going to be a spectacle to remember.”
Jay Singh Brar, GB Tyres Junior Director, added: “GB Tyres is delighted to be an official sponsor of the International Truck Prix at Convoy in the Park 2023. We feel that the event, which encompasses a total of nine truck races, was an excellent fit for us, and our exclusive partner brand – JK Tyre.
“Our business has a long history in the commercial vehicle sector and whilst we have grown and diversified into other areas, the truck market will always remain at the heart of our business.
“Our team are delighted to be a part of the event and will be on hand at our stand throughout the weekend in the paddock to advise on product selection and showcase our wide-ranging truck tyre portfolio.”
