Gemco discusses resolving equipment problems

Gemco is the exclusive agent for the Sherpa range of commercial vehicle roller brake testers and associated (ATF) test equipment. Here the company explains how it can resolve virtually any workshop equipment problem.

Whether you are looking to purchase a single brake tester for pre-testing your own vehicles, or you are planning to build an entire workshop including ATF Lane(s), Gemco says it can help every step of the way. The company says it can offer the entire package which can include builders and electrical works, aftersales services and calibration packages.

A specialised team of factory-trained Sherpa brake tester engineers will provide calibrations and repairs for customers, anywhere in the UK. As part of the commitment to its customers, the company is also able to carry a huge amount of spare parts on its vans, which it says ensures that its first-time fix rate is the highest it can be. A brake tester can be a big investment and so Gemco feels a face-to-face conversation helps to ensure that customers have all the information needed to make an informed decision.

Knowledgeable sales staff are also on hand to help with any questions customers may have, and a dedicated CAD team work alongside sales staff to provide layout and civil drawings, assisting customers with the planning and application processes.

The Sherpa brake tester range consists of three models, all of which are said to be approved by the DVSA for ATF Testing;

Mobile Brake Tester

  • The Sherpa BPS Mobile brake tester is beneficial for workshops with limited space, according to the company. Designed for high usage workshops, it is said to be easy to use and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Inground Brake Testers

The Sherpa BPS Twin and Kompakt 15 brake testers feature the same tablet operation as the mobile machine.

  • The Kompakt 15 is a single piece design with special planetary drive gearbox motors. The BPS twin has an 18 tonne axle test weight and is a two piece design, making it suitable for cross pit installation.
  • The Twin is also approved for tachograph calibrations and functionality enables integration onto the same roller bed, providing the ability to carry out two jobs on one brake tester.
