Knowles Logistic strengthens its fleet with DAF
Cambridgeshire-based Knowles Logistics has purchased five DAF XG+ 480 tractor units to add to its fleet.
The trucks have been bought to cater to enhanced volumes experienced in recent months, as well as to bolster operational efficiency, support driver comfort, and further expand Knowles Logistics’ overall capacity.
The new vehicles add to its 380 strong fleet, which includes 160 trucks including four electric vehicles and 220 trailers.
Featuring a PACCAR MX-13 engine (480 hp/355 kW) and a spacious cabin, the XG+ has been designed with both the operator and driver in mind, blending a perfect synergy of comfort and optimal performance.
The tractor also boasts advanced aerodynamics by being equipped with a full Aero kit, which includes, deflectors, fenders and side skirts, helping to reduce drag and increase fuel savings.
The tractor units follow a series of investments the business has made over the past 12 months. These include three Volvo FM Electric 4×2 tractor units and autonomous warehousing maintenance technology, which includes an inventory management drone and two autonomous cleaning robots.
The latest units were acquired from Ford and Slater Wisbech.
