Laser Tools showcases its ball-end socket bit

Here, Laser Tools presents its ball-end socket bit.

Quite often access to a fastener is obstructed by another component, this could be on an engine, gearbox or perhaps behind the dashboard. You can just about get a hex (or Star® or spline) bit onto the fastener but not quite, and there is a danger of breaking the bit if you force it. Laser Tools to the rescue with this Ball-End Socket Bit Set (part number 8048) which offers a comprehensive 20-piece set of long, ball-ended socket-bits in metric hex, Star and spline profiles. The “ball” design means that the bit will fit snugly at up to a 25° angle, providing the access that you need.

The bits are 62mm in length and mounted in a 1/2″ drive socket, which gives an overall length of 100mm to the socket-bits. Seven metric hex socket-bits are included: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12mm; eight Star® bits: T20, T25, T27, T30, T40, T45, T50 and T55; and five metric spline bits: M5, M6, M8, M10 and M12. The sockets are manufactured from chrome vanadium alloy steel with the bits made from impact-grade S2 steel.
