With the number of vehicles aged six years or more on UK roads growing, IVECO parent CNH Industrial is launching a quality parts line specifically for older vehicles in its model range.
Iveco Parts Trade Club
Recognising that older vehicles are often serviced in independent workshops, IVECO has established a Parts Trade Club, known as ‘Business Pro’. Members get exclusive benefits across the parts range, including NEXPRO, REMAN and Genuine Parts. Readers interested in joining should ask their local dealer for more information, advises Glover.
The NEXPRO range is the certified second line of replacement parts for IVECO vehicles older than six years and covers the Daily van and light truck range, Eurocargo medium trucks and Stralis tractor units. The company points out that according to the latest Department for Transport figures for 2016 (the last full year available), the average age of HGVs in Great Britain was 7.6 years, and 8.1 years for vans. In addition, 15% of HGVs are more than 13 years old, rising to 16% for vans.
Tom Glover, IVECO Marketing Manager, Parts and Services, says: “The launch of NEXPRO is in direct response to feedback from dealers and customers asking for access to a competitive range of parts to keep older vehicles safely and reliably on the road.”
Second-generation parts can have varying levels of quality, says Glover, so it can be hard for operators to have confidence in what they are buying. “We care about quality, and though NEXPRO parts offer a price benefit versus Genuine Parts, they are compliant with appropriate European quality/safety regulations. NEXPRO brakes, for example, comply with ECE R90.”
All the parts – including filters (air/oil/fuel) and brakes (discs, pads, sensors) – are certified by the manufacturer and available exclusively from its network of 89 service points across the UK. Alongside NEXPRO, the business offers its Genuine parts range which are said to be identical, or better, than those originally fitted on the production line, and REMAN, a range of remanufactured components for post- warranty vehicles which have been disassembled and re-engineered from original Genuine parts.
Warranty and availability
CNH Industrial, IVECO’s parent company, offers the same warranty terms on NEXPRO parts as Genuine parts – 24 months parts and labour when fitted in an authorised workshop, or 12 months if purchased over the counter.
Parts availability is critical to minimising downtime, of course, and parts are stocked in the company’s warehouse and logistics centre in Daventry, with next day delivery to dealers nationwide. Dealers will also hold their own stocks ready for immediate sale or fitment, based on their customer profiles.
Most UK distributors have at least one Truck Station, says Glover. These are a pan-EMEA network of premium service providers across all major European truck routes. Truck Stations employ experienced IVECO staff, have expanded opening hours and use the most advanced diagnostic tools to deliver top- quality repairs in the shortest time.
