Remove Decals and Vinyl Graphics

Induction provides a quick and efficient way to remove decals and vinyl graphics on Light Commercial Vehicles.

The Inductor U- 211 Fast-Off Pad is an optional heating attachment for the Pro-Max induction heating tool. It allows technicians to remove vinyl graphics, decals, vapour barriers, sound pads, body trim and much more, leaving little to no adhesive behind, thus with little need for toxic solvents. This allows workshops to save money and lessen the potential health and safety issues associated with using harmful solvents.

How does it work?
Unlike traditional heating methods, the invisible heat created by induction heating is the cleanest and fastest way for removing objects bonded to sheet metal. The high frequency magnetic fields pass through non-metallic objects. Once these magnetic fields reach the metal surface, they heat the metal only leaving the non-metallic parts cooler. The result is easy release and the adhesive stays with the cooler part.

N.B. The guide below is not a replacement for the owners’ instruction manual provided with the product. All warnings and cautions should be followed as stated in the owner’s manual. Please read owner’s manual prior to product use.

Step 1

Attach the Fast-Off Pad to the Inductor Pro-Max.

Step 2

Set the power control knob to midway between the Low and Max settings. As your skill level increases, power can be increased to increase job efficiency.

Step 3

Step on the foot switch to turn the power ON, maintain foot pressure to keep power on, once released the power will turn off.

Step 4

Holding the Fast-Off Pad against the non-metallic object to be removed, move it in a small circular or back and forth motion, so as not to overheat the panel.

Step 5

While heating the panel, begin to remove the object with outward pressure. An L wedge, as pictured, will help. Maintaining outward pressure while you heat will allow the adhesive to release at the lowest possible temperature without causing damage to the automotive finish.

Step 6

The side moulding is removed cleanly.

Tip: If the adhesive becomes too soft and begins to stay on the panel, you may be making the panel too hot. Either back off on the heat setting or work faster. Remember to keep constant outward pressure on the object being removed.

Trouble Shooting: If, all of a sudden, it appears the adhesive is not releasing, you may be over an area that has been repaired previously and filled with body filler. Caution should be taken should you not want to create any further damage in this area of the panel.

The U-211 Fast-Off Pad comes with a one year warranty and a Pro-Max tool must be purchased with it, says Induction. The Pro-Max is a 2kw trolley or work bench-mounted inverter, CE marked and engineered to operate on 230volt power – ideal for bodyshop repair work. Along with the Fast-Off Pad, the Pro-Max comes with two other additional attachments for specific applications:

Glass Blaster attachment

  • Removes bonded windows (to steel only) in under 15 minutes, without breaking.
  • Spray-in bed liner removal
  • Caulking and seam sealer removal
  • Removes bonded roof panels and other SMC panels
  • Removes metal bond adhesives
  • R&I most information labels
  • Removes vinyl stripes and graphics
  • De-bonds rear view mirror brackets

Concentrator attachment

  • General thermal expansion for the release of seized hardware or thread locking compounds
  • Metal shrinking and hail dent removal
  • Fabrication of smaller diameter steel stock.
  • Remove body caulking in a fraction of the time without the need for expensive grinding wheels, eliminating clean up time and exposing your welds that usually get camouflaged when grinding.

The tool also comes with optional attachments, including a Rosebud attachment, a U-555 hand held induction heater and U-111 PDR Baton for soft dent removal.
