CVW talks to ToolTruck to find out what it can offer the busy workshop through its network of mobile dealers.
One of the largest independent mobile distributors of automotive hardware and tools in the UK, ToolTruck is a club of mobile resellers that service workshops and garages throughout the UK. Their independence enables these resellers to stock and deliver a broad range of the best-known favourite brands at competitive prices.
“The brand may not be as recognisable as one or two of its more famous competitors but it can claim to be the UK’s largest supplier of tools to the UK independent tool dealer network,” says Alain Rizk, Head of Sales.
Big brand names
The company specialises in supplying hand tools, power tools, toolboxes and all sorts of products needed throughout the wider automotive/commercial vehicle service and repair market. It holds a stock of more than 7000 product lines including worldrenowned brands such as Milwaukee, GearWrench, Noco and SIP as well as value-for-money ToolTruck own brands such as Trident and Signet.
Naturally, when it comes to negotiating prices, it helps that ToolTruck is part of ISN (Integrated Supply Network), the largest independent automotive tool and equipment specialist serving wholesalers and distributors throughout North America and the United Kingdom.
The business also partners with companies such as the Micheldever Group, Motor Parts Direct, Arnold Clark Auto parts and many more across the industry, acting not only as a tools wholesaler, but also as a full supply chain solution partner.
“Our mission is to serve large and small workshops across the UK with anything from a socket set to a ½” impact gun,” says Alain.
Tooltruck has always sold its tools through independent mobile dealers, around 600 of them, operating out of their own vans, visiting car and commercial workshops around the UK and this remains the core focus of the business. The company supports dealers with printed catalogues, monthly magazines and regular promotions that they then pass on to their customers.
“Each ToolTruck is owned and operated by the driver; it’s their business and, as such, customers enjoy a personal experience,” explains Alain.
He believes that the company offers the workshop owner and manager a service that is tailored to their business because they have a personal relationship with the mobile reseller, who in turn has that relationship with ToolTruck.
“In a market which is seeing a decline in the number of mobile van dealers, we are able to buck the trend by fully supporting our dealers with a personal approach,” he says.
“And this relationship is built on the ToolTruck ethos of providing competitive prices, a wide range of quality tools and a solution to every problem they have.”
And that goes for workshop managers and owners too.
