MC Truck & Bus has strengthened its fleet maintenance capabilities at ASDA’s Belvedere depot in Kent with the addition of four wireless mobile column lifts from industry leader Stertil-Koni. The company says this latest investment ensures maximum flexibility in the workshop, enabling the team to adapt quickly to changing maintenance demands whilst making the best use of available floor space.
As an established user of Stertil-Koni vehicle lifts, MC Truck & Bus already operates around 20 sets of mobile column lifts across its depots in the South East. The decision to add more of these high-performance lifts reflects their reliability and efficiency in heavy-duty vehicle servicing.
Each Stertil-Koni ST1085FWA mobile column lift has an 8.5-tonne lifting capacity, meaning a set of four can safely handle vehicles up to 34 tonnes. Designed for commercial vehicle workshops, these lifts support a range of maintenance tasks, and are said to improve turnaround times and ensure vehicles remain road-ready.
According to the company, one advantage of these lifts is their wireless design, which eliminates the need for cables, reducing trip hazards and cutting down on setup time. This streamlined approach claims to not only enhances safety but also allows technicians to focus on the job at hand without disruptions.
Efficiency is supposedly boosted by Stertil-Koni’s ebright Smart Control System, a touch-screen interface that allows technicians to operate lifts individually or in sync, depending on the task at hand. This gives MC Truck & Bus technicians the flexibility to work on different vehicle types with precision and ease, according to the company.
The lifts are powered by deep-cycle batteries, which consume energy only during lifting. This energy-efficient feature claims to reduce power usage and minimises downtime, ensuring the lifts are always ready for action. Additionally, their adjustable-width forks are designed to accommodate a variety of vehicle tyre sizes, making them a versatile solution for the diverse fleet at ASDA’s Belvedere depot.
