FleetCheck Named as Earned Recognition Audit Provider

FleetCheck has been named as an authorised audit provider by the DVSA for its Earned Recognition (ER) initiative.

The move means that commercial vehicle O-licence users of the company’s fleet software will be able to use FleetCheck to prove they are meeting the requirements of the scheme.

Already, 40 FleetCheck customers are taking advantage of this development, which is included in their standard monthly software rental fee at no additional cost.

Peter Golding, Managing Director at FleetCheck, said, “Earned Recognition provides commercial vehicle fleets who can prove good compliance track records with the possibility of reducing the number of inspections they undergo plus a range of other benefits.

“As an authorised audit provider, we can now help companies to manage the maintenance requirements for the scheme including adherence to safety inspections, defect reporting and rectification, as well as MOT initial pass rate.

“We then automatically send the results to DVSA, showing that KPIs are being met, with complete visibility over the process for the customer. The only other official requirement is that fleets use a validated tachograph analysis provider.”

Peter said that ER was quite a significant development and one that could have a genuine operational impact on the way commercial vehicles fleets handle compliance.

“Fundamentally, the thinking is that the DVSA moves its inspection resources away from fleets that it knows to have a strong safety culture and, instead, target those that represent a likely risk much more closely.

“For those O licence holders that take part and work with an authorised audit provider such as us, it provides a much more efficient way to prove ongoing compliance.”
