Goodyear partners with Mercedes to provide data

Goodyear has joined forces with Mercedes Benz to offer operators real-time tyre data. CVW reports.

Goodyear has announced the integration of its DriverHub mobile application into the Mercedes-Benz (MB) Truck App Portal. Becoming a partner application supports drivers and fleets using MB trucks and the Truck App Portal with access to additional real-time vehicle data, driving efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability through instant access to tyre condition information. The collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Truck is further expanding to include telematics services.

Greater visibility

DriverHub is designed to provide drivers and fleet operators with a continuous stream of accurate tyre data, optimising their tyre management practices. Tailored to the needs of drivers, the app offers real-time information sourced from Goodyear’s tyre management solutions, including Goodyear TPMS, CheckPoint, and DrivePoint.

Antonio Argentieri, connectivity product manager, Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK, said this of the initiative: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Goodyear in the development of the DriverHub app on the Mercedes-Benz Truck App Portal. It’ll help revolutionise the way drivers experience the road, combining technology and innovation to ensure safer, more efficient journeys for all.”

By joining forces with MB, and integrating into the Truck App Portal, Goodyear now equips drivers with additional visibility into tyre conditions. Instant alerts and notifications are triggered upon detecting deviations from predetermined tyre pressure and temperature levels.

Armed with precise information on the affected tyre and the degree of urgency, drivers can proactively take targeted actions to reduce breakdowns as well as help support safety and performance on the road.

Leak detection

One of the standout features of the Goodyear DriverHub is its predictive technology that alerts drivers and fleet operators in case of pressure leaks with ability to detect and differentiate fast or slow leak. This proactive notification allows drivers to take immediate and appropriate actions and connect with the dispatcher for further instructions. The same information can be shared in real-time with fleet operators via mobile app, helping to reduce the likelihood of tyre-related incidents and enhancing overall road safety.

The integration of the Goodyear DriverHub mobile application into the Mercedes-Benz Truck App Portal represents a transformative step toward creating smarter, more connected fleets. Mercedes- Benz truck drivers can now harness real-time tyre condition information to proactively manage tyre health, boost efficiency and competitiveness, and embrace sustainability principles.
