How can fleets benefit from multi-solution tyres?
Continental’s multi-solution approach to tyres was a key selling point for Surrey-based Tunnell Grab Services. CVW reports.
Since its formation in 2001, Tunnell Grab Services (TGS) has provided specialist grab, plant and digger hire, alongside aggregate supplies and contract work for domestic, commercial and industrial customers throughout the south east of England. Sporting a mixed fleet of specialist vehicles, consisting of tipper grab lorries, diggers and dumper trucks, the operator has firmly established itself as a benchmark for reliability, efficiency, and customer service in the construction and waste management sectors.
It’s a reputation that continues to flourish – and one that is owed in part to the company’s decision to utilise Continental’s multidisciplinary approach to rubber. TGS trucks have, for more than a decade, been fitted with Continental family tyres.
“After we decided to equip our fleet with products from Conti’s tyre catalogue, it wasn’t long before we began to realise the gains of our investment,” said Gavin Tunnell, owner of TGS. “From a lowest overall driving cost perspective, vehicles in our fleet equipped with these tyres can run further for longer periods, with fewer breakdowns. Punctures, in particular, have been majorly reduced.
“Unlike other products we’ve tried before, the tyres are nicely suited for the difficult operating conditions both in and out of landfill sites, and on off-road jobs where large amounts of traction are required,” Gavin explains. More broadly, their holistic approach to tyre solutions directly meets the specific needs of our business, and their premium product offering represents unrivalled value for money.”
For TGS, products alone aren’t always enough to sustain and grow a business relationship. The company firmly believes that quality customer service is a crucial contributor to success.
“Over the years, our relationship with the tyre team has gone from strength to strength, thanks to their unwavering commitment to excellence in both products and services,” says Gavin. Their personalised approach consistently demonstrates an ability to listen to and understand our needs, which are met with carefully tailored solutions.”
Continental maintains strong working relationships with its retail partners. In TGS’s case, the tyres are purchased and managed through Fuller Tyres – one of these business’ authorised tyre distributors.
Initially supplying car tyres to rental fleets at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports, Fuller rapidly grew to become a supplier of consumer and commercial vehicle tyres for a wide array of on- and off-road applications. With a reputation for quality products and services, TGS is one of thousands of customers embracing a positive relationship with Fuller Tyres.
“For operators looking to upgrade their tyres, particularly in industries that heavily rely on off-road rubber such as the grab and concrete sectors, opting for Continental’s construction tyres, just as we have, is a no-brainer,” Gavin concludes.
“The tyres offer the reliability and performance essential for our operations – and it’s all complemented by exceptional customer service that ensures we have the support we need, whenever we need it.”
