New DVSA Director of Strategy and Policy 

DVSA Chief Executive Gareth Llewellyn has announced the appointment of Becky Thomas as the new Director of Strategy and Policy.

Becky will have responsibility for shaping the strategic direction of DVSA and transforming the services DVSA provides to help improve road safety.

The services include:

  • 2 million theory tests per year
  • 1.7 million practical driving tests for cars, motorcycles, large goods vehicles
  • 34 million MoTs for cars per year
  • 750,000 vehicle testing for HGVs and PSVs
  • Enforcement of all legislation for which DVSA is accountable

Gareth Llewellyn DVSA Chief Executive, said:

“I’m delighted Becky will be our new Director of Strategy and Policy. Becky has spent much of her career with DVSA and as former Head of Planning and Performance she has a wealth of knowledge and experience of all aspects of our work.

“Having made a significant contribution to the development of our five year strategy, this important role brings Becky the opportunity to shape the policies needed for its implementation and influence the agency’s future strategic direction.”
