Total lubricants commercial vehicle engine oil receives additional OEM approval.
Total has announced that its RUBIA TIR 9900 FE 5W-30 engine oil has received the Scania LDF-4 approval.
The Euro VI oil is backward compatible for lubricating all types of engines, fitted or not with post treatment systems, with “low-SAPS” technology and fuel economy benefits. It offers a range of customer benefits that is said to include outstanding engine protection, excellent anti-wear performance, first-rate thermal stability, easier cold start, and improved fuel economy.
As a new generation synthetic lubricant, it is suitable for the latest commercial vehicles including Scania, Mercedes Benz, DAF, MAN, Volvo, Renault Trucks, IVECO, Daimler, Cummins, as well as certain gas engines.
Its low SAPS (low sulphated ash, phosphorous, and sulphur) composition has been intelligently designed and specifically adapted for the latest generation of engines fitted with post-treatment systems, such as EGR, SCR and DPF.
The dual benefit of fuel economy and Low SAPS when used in combination with fuel economy transmission lubricants is said to provide a fuel saving of 1L every 100km or 3% for consumers.
Additional advantages are said to include, reduced maintenance costs, a cleaner engine, extended oil drain intervals, excellent piston cleanliness performance and an increased lifespan for post-treatment systems.
